Hi,

I just purchased the AVRISP mkII to follow the bootloader post how to install NK Bootloader. It seems that I have everything wired correctly and I am getting the correct response from the programmer prior to programming.

When I go to the cmd line and do a chip erase, it tells me the following:

avrdude: error: could not find USB device "USBasp" with vid=0x16c0 pid=0x5dc

I changed the usbasp to avrispmkII and then I got it to send out something, but resulted in a timeout as described above by user SingleCoilx3 in the How to install NK bootloader posted comments.

I installed AVRStudio 5 and it when I go to erase the chip and read the signature bytes, it works fine???

Does anyone have any ideas.
