I've been thinking about controlling a simple Laser Pointer with the NerdKits. Searching the web and making tests, I discovered that this is possible JUST with a US$1,00 (or less) Laser Pointer, without any eletrical component!

I made this video to show you how to do it:

HOW-TO: Control a $1 Laser Pointer with your Computer and your iPhone!

The codes are here:

NerdKits Code: http://nerdkits.pastebin.com/f369bd9f7

Mac OS X GUI Code: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nyynfamdyyt

iPhone C++ Code: http://nerdkits.pastebin.com/f3fdda94d

I hope you like it! If you test it, post the result here too, :)

Nice! Simple demo of how to hack into a simple device and take it over.

I have a humanoid toy robot called I-Sobot that I would like to hack into some day like this, but it has 17 servo motors and a bunch of sensors so I think I would need more than one MCU to control everything. The robot gives me many daydreams of making my own bigger humanoid robot with similar design.

Hi Nerdful_com,

Hahaha! Thanks! The robots idea is great, but you need a good system to control all of them.

Thanks, pH
