Is there such a battery clip that has leads the same gauge as the wire that came with the kit(I believe it was AWG 18). Because it is kind of difficult to attach the soft wire leads to the breadboard without bending them badly......

The battery clip wires are 24 or 26 ga. A little small. The solid wires that come with the kit are 22 ga. If you have a soldering iron, you can tin the leads to stiffen them up, or you can solder on little pieces of 22 ga. wire to the ends. Just try to keep it neat to prevent other circuit errors.
