Is knowing the electric current for your component important besides the voltage?

Well first of all, you have to understand that they are two completely different things while dependent upon one another.

So what exactly is your question?

Knowing the current for a component is important.

Applying to much voltage will apply to much current.

You can apply to much current at a low voltage also.

Have you studied OHM's law?
