I was hoping I could buy something cheap like these:

to program my ATMEGA168 chip with the nerdkits bootloader. These would work right?

Yes, any of those three will work. Just follow my bootloader instructions in the library. If I were to buy a USBASP programmer, I'd get one with the jumpers for more versatility. There is a link in my tutorial for a seller of a programmer kit, If you buy from him though, make sure to request the USBASP firmware as there are issues with the other firmware he has.
