March 18, 2014 by Ralphxyz	So for some reason my VMware Virtual Windows XP Pro machine has stopped seeing the Prolific device, so no com port. I dug up my FTDI card from Sparkfun and plugged it in. I get a tone when it is plugged in but I do not see anything in Device Manager. Where should it be? This is Windows 8.1 I am using. Ralph

It should show up under "Ports (COM & LPT)"
